Collaborative Pastoral Council

The Collaborative Pastoral Council (CPC) is an advisory board of parishioners who assist the pastor in his role as shepherd of the people of God. The members share their ideas and concerns regarding the life of our Lexington faith community. Together with the pastor, the council reviews the pastoral programs, ministries and other current issues of both parishes and assists in aligning these with the vision and goals outlined in our Collaborative Pastoral Plan.  Council members are elected by parishioners or appointment by the pastor for a three-year term.  The chairs of the two Parish Finance Councils are ex officio members of the CPC. Council meetings are usually held on the first Monday of the month (except for December, July and August) in the Saint Brigid Parish Center.

Finance Council

The Sacred Heart and St. Brigid Finance Councils advise the Pastor about matters of the parish including: initiating and coordinating the annual budget process; reviewing the financial status of the parish on a monthly basis; recommending maintenance and capital improvements to buildings and grounds; advising the Parish Pastoral Council of the financial consequences of its and the Commissions’ decisions; reporting to parishioners the parish’s fiscal year operating results; reviewing management controls over cash and other assets; reviewing insurance coverage; and developing guidelines for salary and wage levels.

Members of the Councils are appointed by the Pastor.  The Sacred Heart and St. Brigid Finance Councils meet monthly from September through June, usually on the third Tuesday of the month.

Communications Commission

MISSION STATEMENT

To serve the pastor, staff & parishioners by making it easy & predictable to utilize parish communication channels.

Our focus is to:

  • Improve and link our major vehicles of communications: the LexingtonCatholic website, www.lexingtoncatholic.org, and the Parishes bulletin
  • Explore other avenues to enhance communications
  • Consult on effective communications strategies with all other parish groups and individuals as requested

We welcome input, feedback and ideas.

COMMISSION MEETINGS:  Typically second Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm alternating between Sacred Heart and St. Brigid Parish Centers. Check the Calendar for up to date meetings dates/times and locations.
