At the Offertory of the Mass, bread and wine are presented to the celebrant by gift bearers from the congregation. These gifts represent our simple offerings to God, and the gift bearers represent the community of gift-givers.

To make these gift bearers truly reflective of our community, we should see various groups represented on different Sundays. The groups could be a parent and child(ren), two parents and child(ren), an elderly couple, a young couple, two friends, and so on. To help facilitate this, the Eucharistic Ministers for each Mass will have the responsibility to invite members of the community to be gift bearers. We hope you will accept this invitation if you are asked.

If a family has gathered at a certain Mass for a special reason (birthday, anniversary, etc.) and would like to have members of its group be the gift bearers, please stop by the sacristy before Mass and let the Eucharistic Ministers know.

We hope this will enhance the flow of the liturgy and give many parishioners an opportunity to feel that they participated in the Sunday liturgy in a special way.
