Easter
Morning broken by the edge of dawn
Darkness scattered on the wings of night
Easter morn.
Resolute but timid women
Trace the unfamiliar grave site path
Easter morn.
A tomb empty of all but glory
Angels, frightened soldiers, rumors of the impossible
Easter morn.
Peter and John in hope and haste
Seek the rumored resurrection spot
Easter morn.
Friends holding deliberations made solemn by fear
When in their anguished midst Jesus stands
Easter day.
Almost two thousand years of resurrections
Two millennia to ponder new life’s meanings
Easter now.
Some of us like smoldering wicks
Gently blown by love back to fire
Faith alive again
Easter today.
Others like bruised reeds
Fragile with life’s hurts
Supported, healed by His new disciples
Easter tomorrow.
And Jesus in the midst of us
Hearts warmed, lives given promise
A world alight with meaning
Easter always.
Our thanks go out to the parish choir, the art and environment groups, lectors, Eucharistic ministers, those who contributed to our Lent and Holy Week celebrations. Our staff, Sister Mary Lyman, Sister Mary Nagle, Maureen McKeown, Claire Martin, Todd Theriault, Father O’Donohoe, Father John O’Brien and Father Baldovin, pray you all the blessings of the Risen Lord in this Easter Season

PALM SUNDAY: Last week several of our teens and a few adults put in a great deal of extra time rehearsing special presentations for our Palm Sunday liturgy at the Youth Mass. The narration of the Processional Gospel by Jeanne DiPietro and Phyliss Caci’s class and the Passio pantomimes by the T.L.C. team (and Alex Lukez) were beautifully executed under the direction of Lisa Cimino. Thank you for this Holy Week gift!
MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWS: Thank you to the T.L.C. team and the adults who helped with last Saturday’s Middle School event. And thank you to BERTUCCI’S in Lexington who so generously provided all the dough for our pizza making activity. We appreciate and support the businesses that respond to our requests for donations.
C.L.I. Letters will be mailed soon to teens who will be incoming Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors outlining the opportunity to participate in Catholic Leadership Institute at Merrimack College this July. Several of our teens have participated in this program (as well as the next step: CLIMB). Their commitment, enthusiasm and leadership are very evident in the Sacred Heart faith community during this past year. We need others who will be trained and willing to serve during the years ahead. This is your parish – if you want an active community for young adults, the ball is in your court. Dates for C.L.I.(at Merrimack College) are July 19-23 or July 26-30. Call Maureen or speak to any member of our T.L.C. for more info.
GOSPEL ROAD Finally we have some dates for Gospel Road. It will be the Week of August 9 - 13 at Oakhurst Retreat House in Whitinsville, MA. More info will be on www.OYMBoston.org shortly! This is a wonderful week of service, fun and growing
YM ADULT COMMISSION MEETING: Our regular meeting will be on MONDAY, APRIL 12th @ 7:30 PM downstairs in the Parish Center. Anyone who is able to help in any way on Patriot’s Day (April 19) is welcome to attend. We need all the help we can get. This is a “fun” family event!
